Editorial policy
Silver Culture Journal aims to make clear, careful writing about material culture. We explain what a piece can support, distinguish fact from interpretation and correct errors plainly.
Accuracy and context
We check factual claims against relevant, dependable material before publication and use sources suited to the claim. Where accounts or interpretations differ, we describe that difference rather than presenting one reading as settled. We do not invent quotations, objects, histories or expertise, and we avoid claims that reach beyond the available evidence.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for reader interest and relevance to our subject. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable assessment or control over editorial conclusions. We do not present a product mention as independent judgment when a relationship affects it.
Partner material
Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled in context so readers can tell what it is. Partner placements are identified as such and are kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. A label does not imply that we endorse a product or service.
Corrections and illustrations
If a published piece contains a factual error, readers can contact us with the detail and supporting information. We review correction requests and update the piece when warranted, making significant changes clear. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when used, they are identified as AI-generated and should not be treated as documentary evidence.
Things are never just things
An object can be useful, beautiful, awkward, or all three before breakfast. We look at how materials and making acquire meaning in real life.
